Mark Hobbs, while earning a B.S. in Business Commerce and Marketing from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, began his 20-year law enforcement career in 1981 at the UAB Police Department. In 1984, he began serving with the Hoover Police Department, where he spent the majority of his tenure in the detective division. In 1989-1992, Hobbs served as Hoover Police Department's Special Investigations Unit's Detective Sergeant and achieved a 99.5% conviction rate of all narcotic arrests, a case solvability rate of four times that of the national average. Hobbs served with distinction and received numerous commendations, including the FBI, U.S. Senator Jeff Sessions, U.S. Senator, Chairman-Select Intelligence Committee, Richard Shelby and U.S. Congressman Spencer Bachus.
