Produktbeschreibung
In these twelve tales, good friends go on an unexpected journey of discovery to Sweden at Midsummer, a young girl explores her love of the dark, a group celebrates an unusual anniversary and a woman is faced with past trauma attending her best friend's funeral. "Boldly Into Darkness Go" invites the reader to take a journey into their lives and dig a little bit deeper, to see what's beneath the surface. Some of the characters have their own "coming out" journey to make, some stories are sad and pensive, others angry and fraught, some are even a little bit wild and wicked. The overriding theme is love in all its guises; romantic, family and self-love, but the stories also touch upon the complex issues of fear, jealousy, sexual politics, control, revenge and loneliness. After years of living with a surname that no one outside of Sweden could spell or pronounce, Anna Maria Espsäter is publishing her fiction writing under the pen name AM Hellberg Moberg. She is a multi-lingual writer, whose career and travels have taken her to over 90 countries and into over 20 books (she writes in English, Swedish and Spanish,) focusing on travel, gastronomy and… cats. Her first book as AM Hellberg Moberg, "How Pat Got Her Five Cats - A Tale For Cat Lovers" was released internationally in May 2019, complete with illustrations by talented artist Dani Bergson. "Boldly Into Darkness Go" is her first published collection of short stories. These twelve tales blend together the author's Swedish heritage and love of Latin America, coupled with her years of London living. The reader will be transported to a deserted beach on a small Swedish island, the dark skies of Scotland, a mysterious attic, a village by a fast-flowing river in Mexico, and for the cat lover, a few fluffy felines have also been sneaked into the mix.
