Bone remodeling is a highly complicated and coordinated physiological process which comprises of bone formation and resorption is necessary for the normal bone mineral homeostasis as well as repair and restoration of damaged bone. Bone cells (Osteocytes, Osteoblasts and Osteoclasts) play a vital role in the dynamic cascade process known bone remodeling when during the disease process. This textbook highlights and elaborates on the bone biology, cellular and molecular mechanisms of bone remodeling with specific focus to periodontal diseases and therapeutics.
