Complete edentulism is a widespread problem in today's society. Stress, irrational nutrition, parafunctions and low culture lead to an increase in the number of patients. The stability of complete upper dentures is determined by its anatomical features and the ability to create a vacuum between the prosthesis and the prosthetic field. The functional impression is precisely the shaping of the boundary surface and the subsequent maximum adaptation of the finished prosthesis in the area of the gingiva-buccal sulcus. Knowing its importance leads to frequent unsatisfactory results. The denture may not hold well, or be stable in a static position but be movable during the eating and talking. Border molding procedure is a part of the classical methodology for complete denture fabrication and in some shortened methods of treatment it is allowed to miss this stage. In dentistry, impression materials are constantly developing. Different viscosities are created and profiled for their use - for removable and fixed prosthesis, occlusal fixation, implant impressing, border molding and more. At the same time, some very good materials are forgotten or denied by contemporary authors.
