David H. Hendrickson's first novel, Cracking the Ice, was praised by Booklist as "a gripping account of a courageous young man rising above evil." He has since published five additional novels, including Offside, which has been adopted for high school student required reading. He expects to release the first book in a new mystery series in late 2019 or early 2020. His short fiction has appeared in Best American Mystery Stories 2018, Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine, Heart's Kiss, multiple issues of Pulphouse, and numerous anthologies, including over a half dozen issues of Fiction River. He is a multi-finalist for the Derringer Award, and his story "Death in the Serengeti" was honored with the 2018 Derringer Award for Best Long Story. Pentucket Publishing released his first short story collection, Shimmers and Laughs: Eight Wildly Hilarious Tales, in 2018. This is his second short story collection.
