This book is a detailed work carried out during the post graduate research. It deals with Bovine Leucocyte Adhesion Deficiency (BLAD) which is a HF specific autosomal, recessively inherited genetic disorder characterized by recurrent pneumonia, ulcerative and granulomatous stomatitis, enteritis, periodontitis, loss of teeth, delayed wound healing, persistent neutrophilia and death at an early age. This book mainly emphasises on the importance of screening the local HF crossbred cattle population to make realistic estimates of BLAD allele frequency and to avoid unintentional transmission of recessive genetic disorders.
