"Raising boys is exhausting, confusing, infuriating . . . and absolutely awesome." In Boy Lessons: What I've Learned from My Sons, Jeff Johnson shares a secret he's been keeping about parenting boys: you learn as much as you teach. "Raising boys is exhausting, confusing, infuriating . . . and absolutely awesome." In Boy Lessons: What I've Learned from My Sons, Jeff Johnson shares a secret he's been keeping about parenting boys: you learn as much as you teach. Jeff and his wife, Sondi, helped their sons through everything from brotherly fights and irrational fears (clowns, thunder, off-brand toilet paper) to "promposals" and their first teenage jobs. From toddlerhood to that self-centered stage before they left for college, their sons, Thor and Rolf, had many lessons to learn-but every stage included plenty of unexpected lessons for their dad too. Here are just a few tidbits of unexpected wisdom he learned about raising boys: Other people's kids aren't as perfect as you think. Save the real battles for things that truly matter. Take conversations when they come (even at bedtime). Kids become frugal when money is scarce. Pray together whenever you can. Every boy is beautifully unique and predictably the same: all boys go through similar phases, pose the same challenges, and cause their parents the same headaches and joys. In this book, Jeff Johnson explores all of these lessons and more. Filled with funny family stories about parenting boys and reflections that are at once familiar and new, Boy Lessons will help you understand your sons better, put their behavior into perspective, and be a better dad.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Jeff Johnson is a self-described "undercover theologian" whose unique journey bridges the worlds of faith, public policy, and social impact. With a Master of Divinity from Emory University's Candler School of Theology, Johnson's path took an unexpected turn from doctoral studies in Christian political thought, through a detour into sports marketing and media relations, to a distinguished career in nonprofit advocacy. Since 2010, Johnson has led advocacy and community engagement efforts for a major nonpartisan, nonprofit advocacy organization in Florida and held volunteer leadership positions on the boards of several statewide organizations. Johnson's influence has earned him recognition as a "Florida Icon" by Florida Trend magazine and consistent inclusion in media lists of Florida's most influential leaders. Despite his secular success, Johnson's theological passion persists. Since 2013, inspired by Pope Francis, Johnson has shared theological reflections on his blog, ReadingFrancis.com, and with his Facebook community, exploring the intersection of faith, culture, and everyday life. Abandoning Temples is Johnson's first book, drawing from years of spiritual insights and diverse professional experiences to examine modern idolatry and authentic faith. His writing has also appeared in America Magazine, where he connected pop culture with papal teachings on aging. Johnson lives in St. Petersburg, Florida, with his wife and daughter, continuing to bridge the gap between spiritual reflection and practical impact in both his professional and personal life.
