He would return to the states a staff sergeant with 5 months time in grade. Along the way, Doug became one of the most decorated soldiers in the 1st Battalion, 12th Cavalry.

Doug Warden has been a professional soldier, salesman, sales executive and consultant in his career. He served with distinction in the airborne infantry and Special Forces of the US Army. He was highly decorated for his service in the Vietnam War, resulting in him being inducted into the prestigious Oklahoma Military Hall of Fame in 2020. His military uniform is displayed in the Prague Oklahoma Museum. He is a native of Prague and lives in Shawnee OK. He is a widower and has two children and five grandchildren.
