Bozo is unlike any other magic carpet you've ever read about, heard about or met. He's a well-read, cheeky little carpet with somewhat limited magical ability and a bit of a James Bond fixation. He can make time stand still and has a caring, considerate nature. But... most of all, he can make dreams happen! He can do all that and more but the one thing he can't do is fly! He has lived in a carpet store for many years. Ever since his parents were sold on a special clearance day, he has been alone. He has tried escaping many times but without success. People always discover him and take him straight back to the store. In the carpet store he was labelled as a 'remnant!' But in his mind, he doesn't agree. Oh no... As he tells Josh and Sophie when they first meet, 'he has come from a long line of carpets, so that makes him a carpet.' As the carpet store is next to a library, Bozo - The Little Magic Carpet has spent almost every evening sneaking through the gap under the door into the library to quench his thirst for knowledge. He's read almost every book in the library! His magical powers go right back to the days of King Arthur and have been handed down to him by his great, great, great Grandfather, Grandpappy Broadloom, who served under King Arthur's magician, Merlin, for many years. Through the years, Merlin dropped so many magic potions on his great, great, great Grandfather that he developed a degree of magical powers too. When Bozo - The Little Magic Carpet eventually manages to escape, after several attempts, and ends up at the lovely new house of Josh and Sophie, he wastes little time in demonstrating one of his powers - making dreams happen. Where Josh gets to drive the famous Mallard engine all the way to London and Sophie gets to work in a real sweet shop, selling real sweets to her real friends! Then, with further magic intervention from their new little carpet friend, they get rid of their wicked Aunt Gladys and her vicious dog, have a most hilarious, one-sided pool tournament with their dad, where all the balls have a mind of their own and their dad gets to eat his favourite straw hat! Josh and Sophie then help Bozo - The Little Magic Carpet fulfil one of his dreams - as all three of them build a giant snowman and have a delicious snowball fight, all in the middle of summer! Now Bozo - The Little Magic Carpet is in their lives, they're assured of many more exciting and magical adventures ahead of them! And you know what? They can't wait! - Rob Levine
Autorenporträt
As my children were growing up, like every doting dad, I would read them a story each night before bed - and like most children, they always wanted more. So, after I'd finished reading their usual books, I would then make up stories of my own to tell them. Eventually, rather than read one of their many books, they would always insist that I told them one of my 'made up' ones. So I did. And each evening, just before bed and with Josh and Sophie snuggled up at either side of me, I would tell them one of my own stories. The stories were always about them and always involved exciting fun-filled adventures. It was during this time that I created a loveable little character called BOZO The Little Magic Carpet. I was determined that, although he was a magic carpet, he would not be able to fly. Otherwise, that would make him a little flying carpet! But he would have a good heart, be caring, thoughtful and be a little carpet with idyllic principles. He would also be well-read, well-versed and know right from wrong. Cheeky to a degree, with a wicked sense of humour and more than a little obsessed with all the James Bond books he's read! Oh, and most importantly - HE could make dreams happen!!Josh and Sophie instantly warmed to Bozo and each evening I would make up a different, exciting, magical adventure involving the three of them. Time has moved on and Josh is now 30 and Sophie is 28 but they both still remember and adore BOZO, their very own Little Magic Carpet!! And you know what? He now sleeps at the bottom of my bed!!
