The resulting complex system landscapes give rise to distinct requirements for BPM software, while the process modelling requirements can be equally satisfied by the most common languages (BPMN, UML, EPC).

Susanne Patig studierte Betriebswirtschaftlehre mit den Schwerpunkten Wirtschaftsinformatik, Produktionswirtschaft und Statistik an der Universität Leipzig. Im Jahr 2001 promovierte sie in Wirtschaftsinformatik an der Otto-von-Guericke-Universität Magdeburg. Dort, an der Fakultät für Informatik, entstand auch das vorliegende Buch.
