This is the second book in the Travelling Solo series covering a fascinating journey to parts of Argentina and Brazil, including vibrant Buenos Aires, stunning Iguazu Falls, magnificent Patagonian glaciers and the captivating Amazon Jungle. In the first book, Vietnam: Journey of Unexpected Delights, the author, who thought she was joining a tour group, unintentionally found that she was travelling solo. What could have been a lonely and stressful holiday, turned out to be a magical experience, such that she specifically chose to travel alone through Argentina and Brazil. This delightful travelogue in its warm and engaging style, will not only inspire you to travel solo, but absorb you into the culture and experiences of South America. It is witty, informative colourful and insightful, both of the region and the solo traveller. It paints a vivid picture of the places visited and the people encountered along the way, in a frank and humorous manner. This is not a travel guide, although it would make a fine travel companion for anyone visiting the region.
Autorenporträt
I am a new writer, so don't have a huge bibliography yet. Indeed this in only my second book. However, as the saying goes "If you reach for the stars, you may not get one, but you won't come up with a handful of mud either." So I arrogantly bought the domain name www.susanrogersauthor as I humbly reach for the stars. I was born and bred, although some would say "dragged up" in the North East town of Hartlepool in 1958. With an interest in matters psychological, I studied psychology at Warwick University before starting a career in marketing. This included senior positions in both market research organisations and "client" companies, most notably Kellogg's and ICI Paints, before setting up my own consultancy grandly named Rogers International owing to my global experience and amount of travel I did when working for ICI. Life is too short they say, so in 2012 I started planning my second life so that I could ensure I did everything I wanted to before I die. The proverbial "bucket list". This came to fruition in 2013 when I moved from Buckinghamshire where I'd been living for 15 years, to North Yorkshire. My interests and hobbies are wide and varied, but my three main loves (apart from my dogs) are long haul exploratory travel, music (I have a jazz band) and creating a haven for nature around my home.
