James Anthony Ellis is an award-winning playwright, journalist, poet, and filmmaker who creates videos, books, theater, and productions that bring understanding to "what's really going on" in our society. Owner of Legacy Productions since 2000, Ellis has written nine books, as well as produced 20 plays, 2 full documentaries, 100+ film/video productions and countless articles and columns. In 2011, he filmed and produced the highly acclaimed "Indoctrinated: The Grooming of our Children into Prostitution," to bring awareness to our prostituted youth problem. In 2019, Ellis filmed and produced the short documentary "Keeping the Peace: Mental and Emotional Wellness for our Law Enforcement," which garnered national attention from police agencies in 36 states, as well as Australia, New Zealand and Canada. In 2020 and 2021, Ellis provided footage for use in three separate POST projects dedicated to Officer Wellness and Community Policing. He also founded the #ThankYouBlue campaign to shift public perception from distrust to appreciation of law enforcement.Since 1998, Ellis has been in leadership within MDI, an international men's organization, including the role as Division Coordinator of the San Diego Men's Division, International VP of Media, and Legacy Magazine editor. A proponent of equality and liberty everywhere, he has spent time focused on issues facing males through the "Boys to Men" nonprofit mentoring organization as well as the Coalition to Create a White House Council on Boys and Men, led by best-selling author Warren Farrell.Regarding his poetry, to put it succinctly, James Anthony Ellis likes rhyming stuff, especially if it can inspire others in some positive way.
