About the Author At the age of 18 I was graced to know the timeless white light of pure I AM Consciousness. This awakening brought about a permanent shift of identity and I never again thought of myself as being my body. After that awakening a spontaneous knowing of our true nature arose, even while living open-eyed in the world. But then, because I was not completely clear of subconscious conditioned thoughts, I was plunged back into the darkness of ignorance. I lived for many years with intense emotional pain and mental confusion. During those years I gained an intimate knowledge of what it is to yearn for liberation and freedom from su ering. That experience gave birth to a deeply felt compassion. After a number of impermanent glimpses of reality, the veils of illusory identity dropped away for good on the holy mountain of Arunachala, India, in 2005. The words of this book emerged from the silent wisdom of our mutual one Self, the Being who is alive as our most intimate essence, the living truth.
