To protect and develop these coasts, many types of breakwaters have been constructed such as groins, seawalls, detached, submerged, and shore-connected breakwaters. The built-in CGWAVE model was used to simulate the wave propagation along Ras El-Bar beach, Egypt,due to the effect of different break waters. Detached breakwaters and interaction between different systems of the existing breakwaters provide higher values of wave energy dissipation. Prof. Abdel Razik A.Zidan(Ph.D.) is a professor of hydraulics at Mansoura University, Egypt. He is the author of different books in the field of water resources , peer reviewer for International and National journals and a member of the Egyptian scientific promoting committee for professorship. Prof.Zidan has supervised about 30 M.Sc.& Ph.D.theses.
