Breast cancer is the most frequent malignant tumour pathology in women. The latest data indicates 25,000 new cases per year in Spain. Obviously the rate of breast cancer varies according to age group, although the number of cases increases with age. Even so, thanks to early detection campaigns together with improved treatments have led to an improvement in the survival rates of patients.Currently, prevention and early diagnosis have focused on women between 50 and 69 years old, but what about the group of women who are outside of early detection programs? Are we facing an orphan disease?
