Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women (23% of all cancers) with more than one million new cases per year worldwide and is still the leading cause of cancer-related deaths in women with 411,000 deaths annually (14 % of deaths caused by cancer in women) and overall, it has the second rank of deaths in both men and women in the world. The death rate from breast cancer in Iran is reported to be 1.7 per 100,000 cases, the age-standardized ratio of this disease is estimated to be 24 cases per 100,000 women per year, and considering that Iran has about 35 million are women. This statistic represents 7000 new cases of breast cancer per year. Since the woman is the center of gravity of the family and with the involvement of the woman, all the members of the family and even the education of the children will be affected, it is becoming more and more important to address this issue and find diagnostic and therapeutic solutions. Today, breast cancer is treated with surgery followed by chemotherapy or radiation therapy or both. Breast cancer has a good prognosis in the early stages and is generally treated through lumpectomy and radiation therapy.
