This study collected data both quantitatively and qualitatively on athletes' perceptions of their current coaches and whether these perceptions influenced individual performance and team satisfaction. Conclusions and implications from both a theoretical and empirical perspective were discussed in an effort to enhance the understanding of the coach/player interpersonal relational dynamic. Athletes were chosen from 2 community colleges, one from the Midwestern United States and one from the Southeastern part of the nation.

Dr. Holstein received his ED.D in Ethical Leadership from Olivet Nazarene University, Kankakee, Illinois in May of 2010. He has been involved in student services work at the 2 year college level his entire professional career. Dr. Holstein is currently the Athletic Director at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth, Florida.
