Survival of the education field is dependent upon the status of its educators who are becoming endangered or extinct at alarming rates. New teachers hold a profoundly significant place in the educational hierarchy. Consequently, there is a mounting concern relative to the substantial increase in the shortage of new teachers in the field of education. This is rapidly becoming a national concern. As new teachers enter the professional field of education it is essential that they received the level of support needed from all members of their organization to assist them in becoming successful educators. "School districts have a duty to provide site-based support for their new teachers at each school site. Programs that promote effective monitoring and supportive induction help a new teacher build: 1) self-confidence and self-efficacy, 2) positive dispositions, and 3) on acquiring and strengthening knowledge and professional skills. Other advantages include 1) lower attrition rates; 2) increased teacher effectiveness and efficiency in their classroom; and 3) saves school districts money" (Lambeth, 2012, p. 1). As a means of addressing this issue, the author asked herself three questions: 1) Why are turnover rates increasing so quickly nationwide; 2) What is causing the new teacher attrition; 3) What can be done to slow down and eventually eliminate this educational obstruction? After completing research which afforded the author the opportunity to closely analyze this matter; she decided that a tool of support for new educators was needed. Here it is!! "Bridging the Gap: From Outside to Inside the Classroom".
