Autorenporträt
Lawrence S. Rowland, is distinguished professor emeritus of history at the University of South Carolina at Beaufort and past president of the South Carolina Historical Society. He is the coauthor (with Stephen R. Wise) of The History of Beaufort County: South Carolina: Volume 1, 1514�1861 and Rebellion, Reconstruction, Redemption, 1861-1893: The History of Beaufort County Volume 2. Rowland lives on Dataw Island, South Carolina, with his wife, the former Margot Hunter. They have three grown children.
