Produktbeschreibung
Brierley Hill was famous for many products in its heyday from steel at the Round Oak Works to sausages at the factory of Messrs Marsh & Baxter. Both were huge employers, but there were many others which contributed to the life of the town and its history that were of equal importance. As traditional industries have declined, others now provide employment for local people, but no matter the change, work remains a vital part of everyone's. This book brings to life the world of work in Brierley Hill via photographs and snippets of personal recollection. In a rapidly changing world, it is interesting to see how industry and work have defined not only our past, but also our individual lives. Ned Williams and the Mount Pleasant Local History Group have gathered together over 200 photographs to illustrate the history of Brierley Hill's. Brierley Hill at Work in Old Photographs is the very essence of Brierley Hill.
