Both Leslie and Janice Sommers were raised in New Jersey, but have a little New York sass to them (courtesy of Janice's hometown of Bay Ridge, Brooklyn). This duo is known in their respective friend circles as the 'funny one' and often are sought out to make others laugh. Janice has always been found with a book in her hands and spent most of Leslie's childhood reading to her children. Reading and writing YA Fantasy has always come naturally to Leslie, getting this from her mother, so it was a no brainer for them to co-write a series. If reading is their hobby, then writing is their passion. Teaching herself to read and create stories at 3 years old, Leslie knew this was what she wanted to do. Though the Amulet series is their first, they have already been working on a second series, steeped in fantasy and romance.
