Petros Bouras-Vallianatos, Ph.D. (2015) King's College London, is a Wellcome Trust Lecturer in History of Medicine at the University of Edinburgh. He has published on Byzantine medicine and pharmacology, cross-cultural medical exchanges in the Eastern Mediterranean, the reception of the classical medical tradition in the Middle Ages, and Greek palaeography. Barbara Zipser, Dr. Phil. (2003) Heidelberg, is a Lecturer at Royal Holloway University whose main field of research is the manuscript tradition of Greek medical works, including the vernacular. Her research has been primarily funded by the Wellcome Trust.
