LORNA ARNOLD OBE is a Fellow of the Institute of Physics and Fellow of the Institute of Contemporary British History. She is author of Britain and the H-Bomb (2001) and Windscale 1957: Anatomy of a Nuclear Accident. MARK SMITH works in the Department of Politics and International Relations, University of Wales, Swansea, UK, where he specializes in British nuclear history and ballistic missile proliferation. Prior to arriving at Swansea, he was a Research Fellow at the Mountbatten Centre for International Studies, University of Southampton, UK.
