Broken is a fast-paced crime thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat, wanting more. Drawing on my experience in psychology and interest in crime I take you, the reader, on a journey you won't forget. During the first three chapters the relationship dynamics of the two main characters are set in place before you are taken back in time to meet the antagonist, a dark soul who's set on an early path to become a sexual predator. Despite not giving graphic details, you are certainly aware of what is going on in the story-line at any given point. Throughout the novel there are plenty of twists and turns, when you think you've caught up with what's happening you are in for another surprise. Dramatic scenes are plentiful and some of the ordeals of the victims face will have you thinking about human behaviour and just how evil some individuals are. Kate and Sam, our protagonist duo, delve into undercover work to save a kidnapped woman. They are met with conspiracy stemming from the top. Their fight to become a step ahead of the game is challenged by varying setbacks that include life threatening situations and a need to judge who they can trust within the team they work. Born in rural Essex, UK I grew up in the very competitive world of equine eventing. Sport, in general, grabbed my attention: I've also climbed mountains, sailed at sea, run marathons and canoed rapids. What can I say? I like to challenge myself, and I certainly sought adrenaline fuelled thrills. However, times change. Due to a serious head injury (not sport related) I'm temporarily unable to do these activities. I also found myself unable to continue my chosen career path that linked psychology, criminology and behaviour adjustment. I've therefore taken a different turn - one that still enables be to put my knowledge to good use. Writing my first crime thriller, Broken, and becoming a published author enabled me regain focus during the latter stages of my recovery, allowing me to redefine who I was after losing so much of what I'd become. It truly has been an incredible journey and one that's created so many opportunities for me. Continuing this path remains vitally important to me and I'm currently working on the sequel, Betrayal.
