Disguising herself as a human is easy for shapeshifter Alira. Living as one turns out to be harder than she'd expected. And imitating a human well-known to millions on all the colony worlds may have been a mistake. Disguising herself as a human is easy for shapeshifter Alira. Living as one turns out to be harder than she'd expected. And imitating a human well-known to millions on all the colony worlds may have been a mistake. To make matters worse, the harvests of knowledge and memories she's gathered from the dead aren't adequate to fully understand her assumed role-unless she surrenders control to the one internal voice she thinks can make things right. But that harvest isn't willing to share the space in her head, and soon Alira is no longer sure which voice is his, and which is her own. Galen has vowed to help Alira succeed and follows her increasingly unbalanced directives, until he realizes that her harvests have corrupted her conscience, maybe even her sanity. Galen has never been a leader. But as the crisis screams toward them, he must make a choice: abandon their people to save Alira or sacrifice her to save them all.Hinweis: Dieser Artikel kann nur an eine deutsche Lieferadresse ausgeliefert werden.
Drema Deòraich is a writer of speculative fiction that sometimes asks big questions. Her short stories have been published in numerous online journals, as well as a few semi-professional zines. Her debut novel Entheóphage, a medical sci-fi/climate fiction novel, was released on October 14, 2022. "Phagey" (as it is affectionately known by its fans) has become a subject of book club discussions in many places, including the club "Reading Between the Wines," of Lexington, North Carolina. (Thanks, Carol and friends!) Her second novel, Fallen, first book in the science fantasy trilogy, The Founder's Seed, was released on May 1, 2024. Broken, Drema's third release, continues the Founder's Seed saga. Drema currently lives in Southeast Virginia with her husband, two cats, and all her other characters. When time and mosquitoes permit, Drema works on transforming the lawn around their small home into more welcoming habitat for birds, butterflies, bees, and other wildlife. She also blogs about writing, ideas from Life that inspire her, environmental issues, ways to live more sustainably, and whatever else captures her fancy. Follow her writing posts at www.dremadeoraich.com, and her environmental posts at www.niveymarts.com. Currently, Drema is hard at work on the third book in the Founder's Seed trilogy with a projected release date in the Summer of 2025. When not writing, she helps her legal-eagle boss save the world one case at a time, pets her husband's cats, or spends time in Nature, surrounded by flora and fauna.
