Bruxism is a parafunctional habit of grinding or squeezing teeth, of an undefined etiology, but which encompasses several factors, where the psychological is the main triggering mechanism. It is increasingly common in children, and therefore important its diagnosis by pediatric dentists. The objective of this study is to report, through a survey of the literature, bruxism regarding its etiology, prevalence, diagnosis and treatment.
