Autorenporträt
Debby Kerbel Shilling grew up on a farm in the Catskill Mountains of New York. She always had a great love for animals and started creating her own "Kerbel Kreatures"(copyright) from clay as a young child. As she became an adult, her parents continued to encourage her to develop the designs professionally. Debby's four year old granddaughter was the primary inspiration for writing and illustrating her first book, "Bubbie, Abuelita, and Me." She has a Music Education Degree from Georgia State University, taught piano for 30 years, and performs music at Assisted Living Homes in the Atlanta area. She lives with her husband and considers her granddaughter the light of her life.
