It is found in Europe.The wingspan is about 8 mm. Adults are on wing between June and July depending on the location. The larvae mine the leaves of Rhamnus species, including Rhamnus cathartica as well as Frangula alnus. A moth is an insect closely related to the butterfly, both being of the order Lepidoptera.
