WW II soldier Bud falls in love over letters with Speed, who becomes his wife. They recall what it took to develop their forever marriage, all while leaning on family and their unshakeable faith. On a snowy Christmas, Bud and Speed recall the origins of their long marriage. They've seen it all: war, peace, and the heart-wrenching struggle of a child with a life-threatening illness. Told partially in letters, their story begins in World War II, where Bud joined the army as Speed's friend, and how they fell in love over letters. Back in the present, the story unfolds, covering what happened after Bud returned from the European theater: their quick engagement, marriage, the early family years, including learning of their five-year old's rare illness during Speed's third pregnancy. Through the support of their family, the power of community and dependence on God, the couple faces medical trials, operations, the reality of tremendous debt, and uncertainty about their child's future. This powerful story is a testament to how hardship can break a marriage when we depend only on ourselves, but the positive results that come when faith in God and each other is love's foundation. Bud and Speed experience the shared fruit of hardship and sacrifice when, in spite of all that comes their way, their trust in God never faulters. This incredible story was written with families in mind: newlyweds; long-weds; and parents who have faced a child's severe illness. Made especially for faithful wives and mothers who walk with great dignity and trust, Bud Loves Speed begins as a World War II-era romance and evolves into a love story for the ages.

After teaching high school English for ten years, Beth Davis was appointed the first youth minister at her parish. The ministry she helped found is still thriving thirty years later. She traveled the country to assist parishes in youth ministry, forming adults through training and retreat offerings while continuing to offer pilgrimages, service projects and mission trips for teens. She lives in Ohio where she and husband Kent raised four daughters. Her passions are her family, her faith, the study of Scripture and theology, reading, writing, gardening and, most importantly, joyfully chasing five grandchildren and two grand dogs.
