Muralidhar Miryala leads the Energy and Environment Laboratory at the Shibaura Institute of Technology (SIT) in Tokyo, Japan, where he plays a pivotal role in guiding academic initiatives. His previous leadership encompasses serving as Deputy President and the Board of Councilors at SIT, as well as Chair and Deputy Chair of the OB World Technology University Network. Prof. Miryala's significant contributions to the field include the discovery of a novel ternary mixed LREBa2Cu3Oy system, the innovation of novel technology for producing RE-123 type silver-sheathed wire, the development of bulk MgB2, advancements in technology for DC superconducting cables, and the production of nanoscale particles using ultrasonic techniques. His passion lies in developing materials to address pressing energy and environmental challenges, aiming to foster a sustainable future for our planet. In 2021, he received the prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award in Science and Technology, a lifetime achievement recognition presented by the President of India. Prof. Miryala's extensive output includes over 530 research publications, spanning 13 patents, 4 books, and press releases. He has delivered over 370 presentations, including prestigious plenary and invited talks, encompassing both oral and poster sessions. His contributions extend globally, as evidenced by the several positions he has held, such as adjunct professor, international advisor, and chief editor and editorial member for several international journals.
