The environmental issue is of paramount importance for the survival of our species. It has already been realised that the current linear production model only depletes the environment without replenishing resources. In this context, this work is important, presenting a cyclical production model with a concern for replenishment. Therefore, this report makes a contribution to the discussion on environmental practices within the manufacturing area, with the aim of proposing a theoretical model in which the organisational theories of the natural resource-based view, institutional theory and transaction costs interact. This model will be based on the combination of which influencing factors force the organisation to adopt environmental practices, how competences are developed and how these sustain competitive advantages. This model is moderated by categorical variables regarding the presence of an environmental management system and the length of time it has been in place in the organisation.

My choice of administration came from two motivations: passion for the field and the desire to change my environment. From the start of the course, I knew I wanted to be a researcher, so I developed various research activities at the university, which culminated in my final thesis, which has now been transformed into this book.
