In Germany there is now a broad societal and political consensus that the country’s future energy needs should be met without nuclear energy. The German Government announced that it will close all of its nuclear power plants over the next decade. The disastrous damage caused by the explosion at the Fukushima nuclear power plant has massively bolstered this opinion.
