More than two decades ago, the need to change the focus of professional training in higher education began to emerge, moving from exclusively disciplinary programs to curricular models that integrate the development of generic competencies. As a consequence, teachers were invited to incorporate active didactic methodologies that allow their development. Thus, also, the design of coherent summative evaluations, together with the delivery of permanent feedback to students. Having said this, this book narrates the experience of a research that was proposed considering the invitation to build or develop systematically and progressively this kind of competencies within an educational process. As general objectives, it was proposed to develop and evaluate a cooperative learning model as a teaching strategy for a group of generic competencies in students of Speech Therapy.
