Perched along the banks of the Sydney Harbor, the Sydney Opera House is one of the most iconic and recognizable structures in the world. It began in 1956 when a year-long international design competition was held. The winning design selected was from Jorn Utzon and the process of building the multi-purpose facility commenced in 1959. The book chronicles the 14-year construction process including accounts of delays and building challenges until it was finally opened in 1973. Featured in the book are archival photographs, chronology of events listing, additional reading and website recommendations, chapter notes, glossary, and index.
