Stress is a condition that affects the Mexican population regardless of age, gender or occupation. As time goes by, the registered figures increase, the symptoms become more accentuated, and the consequences intensify. In addition, recent research has recognized the workplace as an agent that causes the development of this condition. According to Stavroula, Griffiths and Cox, (2004), work stress is a reaction to work demands and pressures that exceed the individual's capacity. Although this condition does not discriminate between professions, workers in the social sciences are at greater risk of suffering from it due to prolonged contact with other people. Thus, the health and teaching areas are among the most affected.
