Cheryl Kickett-Tucker belongs to three areas of the Noongar people, and her story was inspired by her family's experience in the bush. Jessica Lister is a descendant of the Minang and Goreng Noongar peoples of the southwest of Western Australia. Tjalaminu Mia is a Noongar woman, who has worked as a research fellow in the School of Indigenous Studies at the University of Western Australia. Jaylon Tucker belongs to the Ngullundharra and Walyan Aboriginal people of the northeast WA goldfields.
