Through the rapid spread of information and communication technologies (ICT) and ever decreasing prices for communication, markets in different parts of the world become more integrated. The extent of ICT has led several analysts to argue that these technologies are creating a new economy an information economy in which information is the critical resource and basis for competition in all sectors, manufacturing and probably even more in services. So one of the goals in this study is whether the use of portal can help SMEs to cope with the tight competition and globalization. In today's market efficiency and global presence are very important for SMEs to enhance competitive advantage. We will discuss how web portals can help companies to increase their market share and how to implement new marketing strategy by using web portals.
