The work at hand is based on a needs analysis framework that aims at revealing the absence or the presence of a hiatus between the English taught in one of the Moroccan vocational schools and the business English needed in the workplace. Accordingly, a mixed-method study was adopted to demystify the importance of designing the content of business English courses based on the learners' future professional background and on the analysis drawn from target situations and learners' needs. Ultimately, the findings of this inquiry have triggered pedagogical implications for syllabus designers, ESP teachers and learners alongside with recommendations for future research
