This work deals with the economic evaluation of a new trafficmanagement system being able to replace all current traffic signsby dynamically bringing these signs to the display in the car frontpanel. The increasing traffic safety and the cost reduction of thetraffic management by exploiting available technologies are the twomain motivations for this new system. Several additional benefitsare offered to the system operator, the public authoritiesresponsible for traffic signs and to the car drivers. The economicfeasibility of the business model is the most important criteriafor the implementation decision and success of this technicalconcept. Parameters of the business case are quantified and abusiness model including taxes and depreciation with a completeasset balance is proposed and discussed. Different methodologiesare applied to evaluate the profitability of the business. Withsensitivity analysis the robustness of the profitability isoutlined and the top critical model parameters are analysed by goalseek. Finally a risk assessment is made in order to derive a finalconclusion of economic profitability of the proposed system.
