Small and medium enterprises contribute significantly to employment and economic growth for any country. However, lack of capital funding, business planning related issues and poor management practices, are among constraints hindering the growth and development of small and medium enterprises in Kenya. The general objective of this study was to assess the effects of business planning on the servicing of loans by small and medium enterprises in Eldoret town. The study was conducted in Eldoret municipality on small and medium enterprises engaged in hair salon businesses. The research design adopted for this study was a survey research design. The target population was 617 Hair Salons from Eldoret town; beneficiaries of financial institutions loans and which had been in operation for at least three years by the time the study was being conducted. A purposive sampling technique was used to select 123 Hair Salon owners who had benefited from bank loans. The survey data was obtained with the aid of structured questionnaires.
