Paquita Lamacraft wrote Shrapnel Free Explosive Growth based on her own experiences in management in global companies and from her wide ranging reading about innovators and entrepreneurs, writers and thinkers of every age. Having held roles from Chief Operations Officer to Executive Director and consulted with senior management of companies in many countries, Paquita gives many examples from that background and her extensive reading - always stressing that the solutions you build should suit your company and your context. The quotations she uses in the book are not those most commonly associated with the leaders, writers, and thinkers featured. Paquita has spent years collecting quotations and has made many small quote books for friends - each hand scribed in calligraphy and carefully tailored for the sense of humour, experiences and interests of the recipient. This gives a large repertoire from which to draw and it is a hallmark of her writings to have the pithy, thought provoking or sage quote that is one quite different from those normally used. An avid reader of predominantly non-fiction across a wide range of subject areas, Paquita says she lives in a combination of a library and an art gallery.
