On one east end the street, it is the exit to Mong Kok East MTR Station and Grand Century Place of an extensive elevated walkway in the eastern Mong Kok. A shopping centre Pioneer Centre, which was a theatre in Kowloon, was erected at the junction of Nathan Road. Opposite to the shopping centre is another landmark, a high-rise church of HKC CCC Mong Kok Christian Centre. The Telephone exchange near Shanghai Street is a main office of the PCCW in Kowloon. The street was named after John Stuart, 3rd Earl of Bute, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom between 1762 and 1763.
