Dr. Bruce W. Strouble is an esteemed anti-racism scholar, environmental justice activist, and community organizer rooted in Pasadena, California, and currently residing in Tallahassee, Florida. With a deep commitment to advancing sustainability and resilience in African American communities, Dr. Strouble holds a Ph.D. in Public Policy and Administration from Walden University, complemented by African American Studies and Social Sciences studies at Florida A&M University. Dr. Strouble's career spans impactful roles, including Sustainability Program Coordinator for the City of Tallahassee and Sustainability Coordinator at Florida A&M University's Sustainability Institute. He currently serves as the Senior Manager of Equitable Climate Resilience Programs at Groundwork USA, leading initiatives that empower communities to confront climate challenges through democratic engagement and equitable solutions. Recognized for his leadership, Dr. Strouble received the 2018 ReThink Energy Florida "Energy Innovator" award, a testament to his innovative approach and expertise in the field. He is a Senior Fellow at the Institute for the Polarities of Democracy and the Environmental Leadership Program. He is a founding member of Citizens for a Sustainable Future Inc. and vice President of the New Era Impact Investment Fund. He serves on the boards of the Capital City Chamber of Commerce, Rethink Energy Florida, and the Moving Forward Network. As a father of four Black boys, Dr. Strouble's personal and professional dedication converges on fostering sustainable and cohesive communities. His influence extends through academia, where he occasionally teaches courses in Political Science, Public Policy, and African American Studies. Driven by a profound belief in the power of community and democracy, Dr. Strouble continues to shape policies and practices that promote environmental justice and enhance political participation across diverse landscapes, inspiring hope for a better future.
