Kenny Hensley lived his teenage years like most kids of the 60's and 70's, not knowing what the future held. His early adult years were mostly spent working in a family business until he decided to make his dream a reality. He became a police officer in 1990 after graduating covaledictorian of his academy class and was hired by the Nacogdoches Police Department. While with the Police Department he worked in the Patrol Division, Traffic Division, Neighborhood Enforcement Division and the Criminal Investigations Division. He also served as the coordinator for the Nacogdoches Crime Stoppers as well as the Nacogdoches Citizens' Police Academy. His efforts with Crime Stoppers netted the Police Department nine state awards. Kenny volunteered time to the Nacogdoches Explorer Post, helping train young adults interested in a Law Enforcement career. He is the recipient of two Special Duty Commendations from the Police Department. After leaving the Police Department he worked as an investigator for the 145th District Attorney, eventually becoming the Chief Investigator for the District Attorney serving the 145th and 420th District Courts. While in this position he received a PCI (Professional Criminal Investigator) award. He currently works for the Nacogdoches Independent School District Police Department on the High School campus. Kenny holds a Master Peace Officer license. He is married to his wife Karen and has four children ranging from ages 18 to 34. He is also the proud grandfather to two boys. In this book, he tries to answer many questions about his career choice by going back into his past.
