Autorenporträt
Marshalette R. Wise is a native of Tuskegee, Alabama. She has a B.A. in English Language Arts Education from Tuskegee University, M.Ed. in Educational Leadership from the University of Minnesota, and CELTA from the University of Cambridge - Teaching House NYC. She is the founder of WISE Scholars Foundation, a nonprofit organization with the mission of assisting socioeconomically disadvantaged and at-risk youth with dropout prevention, school completion, and college attainment. Marshalette has established several sister companies to aid in this endeavor. Among them are: WISE Scholars Publishing, a literary publisher of children, young-adult, and adult books; WISE Scholars Mentors, a database of prior socioeconomically disadvantaged and at-risk individuals, who are now successful in careers, to serve as mentors for current at-risk students; and WISE Scholars Films, a production company that highlights educational and community topics in an informative and creative way. She has experience as an elementary and secondary teacher in American public schools and internationally at universities in South Korea and Saudi Arabia. Marshalette R. Wise is the author of three children's books: "Johnny's Birthday Surprise," "Much Hairdo About Nothing," and "Bye-Bye Big Bully."
