People are using herbal medicines from centuries for safety, efficacy, cultural acceptability and lesser side effects. Plant and plant products have utilised with varying success to cure and prevent diseases throughout history. The WHO has recently defined traditional medicine (including herbal drugs) as comprising therapeutic practices that have been in existence, often for hundred of years, before the development and spread of modern medicine and are still in use today. Traditional medicine is the synthesis of therapeutic experience of generations of practising physicians of indigenous system of medicine.No doubt there are many established antidiabetic drugs in the market, most of which have many toxic responses and side effects. So ,C. infortunatum & B. sensitivum can also be used as an adjunct to established therapeutic agents, but more studies are required.
