From Big Horn Sheep to renowned doctor, Mary Percy Jackson, author Dawn Welykochy recounts thefacts, faces, and features that make Alberta unique.< P>Dawn Welykochy grew up in Calgary, Alberta; attended the University of Calgary; and recentlycompleted training to become a Montessori preschool teacher. < I>C is for Chinook< /I> is her first children'sbook. Dawn now lives on a ranch in Southern Alberta and looks forward to traveling the provinceto share this book with children and educators.< P>Lorna Bennett attended Grant MacEwan Community College and the University of Alberta inthe Arts/Fine Arts program. She has worked as a ski instructor, designer, writer, illustrator, andanimator. Her previous children's picture books include < I>Sandwiches for Duke< /I> and < I>Dot to Dotin the Sky< /I>. Lorna has toured with the Young Alberta Book Society's Chrysalis Festival, teachingart in elementary schools. She makes her home in Edmonton, Alberta.
