This publication narrates the hybridization processes that ethnic Cañari music has experienced during the last years. One of the main musical genres that has had a positive influence on the different Ecuadorian Andean rhythms has been Jazz, since it has generated different possibilities in rhythmic and harmonic variation. In addition, this publication presents a musical fusion proposal for the interpretation of traditional Cañari music with some variations and harmonization in a jazz style.
