Tyisha was born "acquainted with sorrows." As a mulatto in the deep south previous to the Civil Rights movement, she was barely tolerated by Whites, unloved by her grandparents, and taken for granted by Blacks. She never knew her father and her mother died when she was a child. She was nearly hopeless. Everything changed for Tyisha in her final year of college when her mentor led her to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Within a year, she had met her fiancé, Jeremiah, been dismissed from her first teaching post due to the lies of "Christians," and felt the call to missions with her husband by their Lord. Tyisha and Jeremiah take the Gospel to an unreached people in the headwaters of the Amazon River. They were soon to discover that preaching the Gospel is not without costs and may even cost one's life. Mr. Garzelli spent his early years on a cattle farm near Waynesville, Missouri and thought he would probably spend his life there. Like his character, Tyisha, salvation changed everything for him. Following graduation from a Christian college, he married his wife, Cheryl. In 1982, he graduated from a Christian seminary in Kansas City, Mo and went on to serve the Lord in several capacities. Together, they have served as pastor and wife to six congregations, Air Force chaplain and wife, hospital chaplain, missionaries, and International Promoter for the Roblealto Children's Association (Costa Rica). Mr. Garzelli has come a "fer piece" from that little boy calling the cattle and the Lord has been with him every step of the way. Now, he hopes to teach others some of what the Lord has taught him through the words of Café con Leche and The Fourth Elijah.
