The aim of this book is to show the results of treatment in calcifications of the rotator cuff, in patients treated with extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ECT), a review of the treatment of pain in calcified tendinitis of the shoulder with the application of the focused shock wave, which will allow to assess its effectiveness, as well as the advantages and disadvantages. This search was carried out in virtual libraries, such as Tripdatabase, Pubmed and Cochrane, in which the terms MESH tendinitis, calcification, pain and the non-MESH terms, shock waves, were used. The search was carried out in several languages without a limit of years. The results of the different works carried out and the support of the literature analyzed in the present work allow us to affirm that extracorporeal focal shock wave therapy is a valid alternative to the failure of conventional therapy in patients with symptomatic rotator cuff calcifications.
